OUR STUDENTS
Our student team plays an invaluable role in supporting our work and helping us continue to provide compassionate grief support in the community. With the guidance of our staff and volunteers, students contribute in many different ways, gaining experience across a variety of roles. We are committed to providing a supportive, collaborative, and learning-focused environment where students are encouraged to grow, bring their unique perspectives, and make meaningful contributions to our mission.
We are pleased to recognize the following students completing their 2026–27 placements with us (this is not a complete list and highlights only the students who have chosen to be featured):
Sukhmandeep Singh
Fundraising and Events Assistant
Sukhman supports fundraising, events, outreach, and communications while building his skills in marketing, graphic design, and communications.
Cassandra G.
Placement Student
Cassandra provides one-to-one peer support and co-facilitates grief support groups for individuals experiencing loss. She also supports volunteer engagement, community outreach, resource development, and educational initiatives that help strengthen the Centre's programs and services.
Agata Kurek, MSW Candidate
Child & Youth Grief Program Developer
Agata is an Master of Social Work (MSW) student contributing to the development of programs by supporting initiatives that promote well-being for different communities, and creating resources that promote access to support and services.
Kelly Correia
Administrative Assistant & Peer Supporter
Kelly supports our intake process, assists with group facilitation, and provides one-to-one peer support to individuals navigating grief and loss. She also supports the promotion and marketing of our grief support groups and workshops, helping connect individuals with resources and services that may support them through their grief journey.

Outreach and Volunteer Relations Student
Ryan provides one-on-one peer support, co-facilitates grief support groups and supports volunteer management and program development.

As a Social Service Work student, Melissa started her placement at the Centre in September 2026, and is supporting peer-to-peer sessions, grief support groups and community outreach & education.
