Challenge Yourself with These Fundraising Ideas

Picture1.png

Challenge yourself!  Take the plunge, and do something that you know will take a lot of determination and energy, but that would be so worth it to do.  You know that your friends and family would be in credibly supportive of and proud of you? Well friend, Seize The Day and let’s get started!

Extreme physical challenges: Test your limits physically and raise funds for BFO-Halton/Peel in support of your efforts. You could run the equivalent of a Toronto to Thunder Bay drive. You could ride or spin the equivalent of the Tour de France. You could walk a certain number of steps every day for a month. You could run the CNTower Climb in your home or apartment building. You could climb the height of Mt. Everest at your local wall climbing studio. You get the idea! Whatever it is, make sure it is a challenge that is FUN, and you can do safely!

Reading challenge: Are you an avid reader? Or not at all? Select a number of books and a timeframe, then challenge yourself!

Create a piece of art: Not the artistic type? Challenge yourself to draw, paint, or sculpt something. You can ask for donations to support your work, and even auction it off when it’s complete to the highest bidder!

Cell Phone Challenge: Theoretically, living through a global pandemic has taught us what’s really important in our lives. And yet, it has also made us (potentially) more reliant on our devices. Challenge yourself and others to put your phone down to support BFO-Halton/Peel! Don’t worry, you can keep the call functions on for emergencies or reaching out to loved ones if you or someone you know needs support. Determine the length (for some, even 24 hours might be very difficult) then decide if you want to do it on your own, or or as a group challenge!

Dance Marathon: Dust off your disco diva to host a 24-hour dance marathon to raise money for BFO-Halton/Peel. You could do this solo, or you could gather up friends and family members to create teams and challenge each other to see which group can raise the most. Each team can wear a colour or costume and even create teams names.  The list of ways to be creative are endless.

You could even do this as a virtual event, and invite supporters to request their favorite songs or dance style for $5.

Have a paw-a-thon: Get your pet-loving friends and family  members together with their pooches for your 5k paw-a-thon! Ask everyone to make a donation to join in the fun.  You can even have the furry ones wearing their most festive outfits to really make it special.
