Bereaved Families of Ontario - Halton/Peel is a non-profit, charitable organization offering compassion and care for people dealing with the death of a loved one.  We provide mutual support programs and services for families and individuals coping with grief.

Mission:

We are the bereaved helping the bereaved learn to live with grief.

Vision:

To empower grieving individuals and families by providing inclusive mutual support programs, fostering hope and healing, and educating the public to help reduce the stigma of grief and bereavement.

Goals:

• To provide parents with a safe place to grieve the death of a child
• To empower children, adolescents, and young adults by validating their feelings and experiences and providing effective coping strategies while grieving the death of a parent or sibling
• To reduce the stigma of death, dying, and bereavement by educating and sensitizing health care professionals, funeral directors, referral sources, the business community and the general public
• To advocate for and with the bereaved community to achieve a more inclusive and supportive society
• To ensure grieving individuals and families are acknowledged and valued as members of our society
